Mouldings, Mouldings, Mouldings....

Since Mike & I have never had a "real" dining room back at the condo, we decided to make this dining room more formal by removing the existing sliding door out to the deck.

You'll notice we added crown mouldings.  We also opened up the wall to the right of the window.

Here are the windows before.....

We have my Dad to thank for the beautiful woodwork under each of the 3 windows.  It wasn't planned at all.  He just had an idea while he was working.  I love how the woodwork makes this wall the focal point of the room.

We ended up replacing all the mouldings around the windows to match some of the original woodwork left behind in the living room.  After searching high and low we were able to find a match at Anderson McQuaidI painted the walls "Wedgewood Gray" by Benjamin Moore.  I wish the color was a bit more on the gray side.  I'm hoping the color grows on me......sshhh don't tell mike.  He'll kill me if he thinks I may re-paint!  Now window treatments and lighting....what's a girl to do?  All I know is that light fixture has to go....don't you think?
